Margaret Qualley an American actress, dancer and model is best known for playing the role of Jill Garvey on the HBO television series The Leftovers. Sarah Margaret Qualley was born on October 23, 1994 in Kalispell, Montana, USA. She is the daughter of an actress, model Andie MacDowell and a model, musician, contractor, rancher Paul Qualley. As a teenager growing up in Asheville, North Carolina and left home at 14 to board at the North Carolina School of the Arts, where she studied dance. She trained as a ballerina, earning an apprenticeship at the American Ballet Theatre and studying at New Yorks Professional Childrens School.
At the age of 16, following an offer to become an apprentice with the North Carolina Dance Theater company, Qualley decided to quit dance and began working as a model in New York. She attended Londons Royal Academy of Dramatic Art summer program. She attended New York University. Qualley made her modeling debut during New York Fashion Week in 2011 at the age of 16, walking for Alberta Ferretti. She modelled during Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 for Valentino and Chanel and again she walked for Chanel during their Fall/Winter 2012 show. Margaret has posed for publications such as Vogue, W, Teen Vogue, Interview, Vanity Fair, and Nylon. Margaret Qualley appeared in the Ralph Lauren Fall/Winter 2016 print campaign, shot by Steven Meisel and is currently signed with IMG Models and Uno Models Barcelona. She appeared in her first movie Palo Alto in 2013 and she played role of a girl named Raquel. Not long after Margaret debut in acting, she was cast in HBOs series The Leftovers, where she played the role of Jill Garvey, the rebellious daughter of Justin Therouxs character cop, Kevin Garvey. Her acting career saw a major rise in 2016, she made her debut in a mainstream Hollywood movie The Nice Guys, a comedy starring Ryan Gosling and Russel Crowe. Same year, Margaret also starred in a short film titled Dream Girl where she played a character named Nora. Her two films premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival in 2017. She played Alexandra in the movie Sidney Hall, the role of Sister Cathleen in Novitiate and she is also set to appear in the movie IO opposite Anthony Mackie, film titled Strange but True. She is set to appear in Netflixs Series Death Note as Mia Sutton which is based on a popular manga series. In 2018, she appeared in Donnybrook, directed by Tim Sutton and co-starring Jamie Bell and Frank Grillo which had its premiere at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival. In 2019, she starred in the Netflix science-fiction film IO which was directed by Jonathan Helpert and it was released on January 18, 2019. In this film she played Sam Walden, a teenager surviving as one of the last people on an abandoned post-cataclysmic Earth.
In 2014, she was Ryan Roches model in the TV series The Fashion Fund and she was also on Chelsea Latelys episode.
In 2015, she appeared as herself in a brief role for the series Last Call with Carson Daley and also appeared in a promotional film for major fashion label Tory Burch.
In 2016, she appeared in her first major Hollywood movie, The Nice Guys, as Amelia Kuttner alongside Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe and the same year, she was seen on The Peter Austin Noto Show and Made in Hollywood.
In 2017, she appeared in the music video for Sokos song Sweet Sound of Ignorance and also choreographed a major portion of her dance routine for the commercial of KENZO World.
