Priyanka chopra is One of Indias highest-paid and most popular celebrities was born 18 July, 1982 in Jamshedpur, India, to the family of Capt. Dr. Ashok Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra, both Indian Army physicians. She started her education at La Martiniere Girls College in Lucknow. She was schooled in different cities across India until the age of 13, when she was sent to the United States. In America, besides academics, she also volunteered for dancing and singing activities, but desired to become an engineer or psychologist rather than a performer.
Upon returning to her homeland, she took part in the Femina Miss India contest and was selected to represent India in the Miss World pageant,
where she was crowned Miss World 2000.Before starting her acting career, she worked as a model. She left her studies midway to join the film industry and she started her career with a Tamil film Thamizan as the love interest of the protagonist, played by Vijay It was not long before she made her debut in Bollywood as the second lead in the 2003 film The Hero. Set against the backdrop of the Indian Army in Kashmir, the film tells the story of an agent and his fight against terrorism. The Hero was one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films that year, but received mixed reviews from critics.
She was noted for the glamorous role she portrayed in her next film Andaaz in 2003 and also earned a Filmfare Award for it. She won a Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role, becoming the second and final actress to win the award after Kajol Chopra also received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In 2013, she lent her voice to the character of Ishani, the reigning Pan-Asian champion from India Chopra, a fan of Disney films, had fun voicing the character saying The closest I could come to being a Disney princess, I think, was Ishani. The film was a commercial success, grossing approximately US$240 million worldwide.
